One brother was killed and two others were injured in a shootout between two groups while holding a rally at Nowshera Nawan Kalay funeral home. A case was registered against 6 accused. All three PTI meetings were canceled after the shooting. Defense Minister Pervez Khattak was to address the meetings.

According to DPO Najam-ul-Hasnain, preparations were underway for a PTI meeting at Nawan Kalay Funeral Home in Nowshera, which was to be addressed by Federal Minister for Defense Pervez Khattak at 5 pm.

Injured Khurshid said that after a scuffle with the PTI leaders, the accused opened fire, killing Sher Alam and injuring two brothers.

The heirs of the deceased staged a protest on GT Road against the non-arrest of the accused. However, the protest was called off on the assurance of DPO.
