New Zealand: Opposition recognizes Jacinda's victory
Counting is under way in New Zealand's general election, with the opposition acknowledging that so far Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's party has won.
Opposition leader Judith Collins also congratulated New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden on the phone.
Judith Collins, leader of New Zealand's opposition National Party, told supporters that the Labor Party had achieved "extraordinary results" in the election and had telephoned Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to congratulate her.
He also said that Jacinda Arden promises that the National Party will be a strong opposition, we will account for the government's failed promises.
The counting of votes is underway in New Zealand, while the final official results have not yet been announced.
