An accused died in police custody in Gujranwala city of Punjab. The policemen left the body of the deceased in the hospital and fled.

The heirs of Khalid, who died in police custody, have alleged that Khalid was taken into custody by police personnel of Ladhiwala Waraich police station.

He said that after his arrest, accused Khalid was tortured and the death of the accused was due to torture.

According to the heirs of the deceased, after Khalid's death, the policemen left the body of the accused at a private hospital near Chanda Qila Bypass and fled.

On the information of the hospital management, Aymanabad police station has taken the body into custody and started investigation.

Police say the incident will be further investigated in the light of the post-mortem report, and those responsible will be brought to justice.
