Prince Zulfiqar, president of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), and Nasir Zaidi, general secretary, strongly condemned the disappearance of senior Geo reporter Ali Imran Syed, calling the incident an attempt by state pressure on journalists.

The PFUJ leadership warned the Sindh government and the individuals and institutions involved in the abduction of journalist Ali Imran Syed that Ali Imran Syed should be rescued immediately in any case, otherwise the PFUJ would join hands with the UGs across the country. He further said that if Ali Imran Syed was not recovered immediately, PFUJ would continue the series of protests in the country from Monday till the safe recovery of Ali Imran Syed.

The two leaders called on all journalists' organizations to continue protesting against state repression till the next PFUJ strategy.
