 Karachi: Safdar's expected appearance, additional police deployed in city court

Capt. (Retd) Safdar, the arrested husband of PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz, was rushed to Aziz Bhatti police station to be produced in court. He will be taken to court shortly.




According to sources, in view of the expected appearance of Captain (retd) Safdar, additional police personnel have been deployed in the City Court Karachi.




Bomb disposal staff said that the court would be screened, from the city court gate to the court way, while the court has been requested to screen the relevant court.




It may be mentioned that a case of desecration of Mazar-e-Quaid was registered against 200 persons including Captain (retd) Safdar on the complaint of citizen Waqas yesterday after which Captain (retd) Safdar was arrested by Sindh Police from a local hotel in Karachi this morning.




The claim against Capt. (Retd) Safdar incorporates passing dangers, harm to government property, and an infringement of the Mazar-e-Quaid Act.




On the other hand, PML-N leader and Maryam Nawaz's spokesperson Muhammad Zubair said that Sindh Chief Minister said that pressure has been put on him for his arrest. Education Saeed Ghani says that Captain (R) Safdar was not arrested on the instructions of Sindh government.
