Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed players and support staff to accompany families in the second and final round of the National Cricket Cup in Rawalpindi during the domestic cricket season. SOPs must be strictly enforced.

According to a statement issued by the PCB, the players and support staff at the hotel in Rawalpindi have been allowed to meet their families for the second phase of the National T20 Cup. Two tests must be performed under the BKVID 19 protocol.

Upon arrival in Rawalpindi, the players and all the staff including the families have been tested on Thursday. Director High Performance Nadeem Khan says it is not easy for players to stay in the biosecure bubble for a long time and it could potentially affect their performance.

He said that in this case, the players made a legitimate request which was accepted by the PCB on the condition that all these families would strictly abide by the PCV's protocol Kovide 19 protocol. Nadeem Khan added that the PCB's Department of Medical and Sports Sciences would continue to monitor the corona virus situation across the country in the meantime and if they felt that the protocols could be further relaxed while ensuring the safety of tournament participants.
