It is the largest economic and cultural center of South Punjab History According to historians, the first human settlement at Multan was established at least 5000 years ago around 3000 BC. In other words, the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Mohajer were still flourishing. When the Aryan nation entered the subcontinent in 2000 BC, they found Multan in the form of an ancient settlement. Tajuddin Mufti's unpublished "History of the Punjab" written in 1868 records that Multan was inhabited at the time of Noah's flood. |
The famous historian Al-Biruni writes on page 155 of his book "Al-Hind" that "during my stay in Multan in the eleventh century AD, the people of Multan say that it is (216430) two hundred and sixteen thousand four hundred and thirty years old."
