International Child Labor Day

On the international day against child labor, we should confirm the collective commitment to protect our children, remembering all children who are abused and exploited. We have to make sure that every child has the opportunity to express his or her abilities.

 The global community celebrates June 12 every year as world day against child labor. This year, the world is facing an unprecedented epidemic.

 Due to epidemic, there are fears that children may face more risks of child Labour, lewdness marriages and other forms of exploitation. Because of the threats to public health, the right to education of children around the world has also been compromised.

 In Pakistan, where there are already estimated two million and 28 million children out of schools, there is a higher number of children. Due to the epidemic, there is a negative impact on their learning process, as well as the inequality in education can increase further and there is a risk of increasing the rate of children's school deprivation five times. 

Child labor causes physical, psychological, moral and social harm to children. At this time, an estimated 15 million to 20 million children are counted among the laborer in the world. Out of these children, seven million twenty million children are forced to do dangerous things. 

According to the world organization for Labour, an estimated 85 million children work in Pakistan.

 In the first place, there is the agriculture sector in which six percent of the children work, while the service sector with 14 percent of the services with other and six percent with seven percent of the industrial sector.

 According to current news of India, child labor day is celebrated globally on 12th June. However, child labor in the valley is banned by the government and no one is allowed to work with young children and make their educational future difficult. However, children continue to work in the valley. 

Children are being worked in different factories in other towns of the valley including city srinagar.
