Afghanistan: Blast in Ghazni, 9 killed

A bomb blast in Afghanistan's Ghazni province has killed at least nine people.

According to the provincial governor's spokesman, a bus coming from Kabul in Ghazni collided with a roadside bomb, causing an explosion.

The blast killed at least nine people, including three women, he said.

Ghazni police spokesman Adam Khan Sirat blamed the Taliban for the blast, and said four policemen were also injured.

It should be noted that on the one hand, talks are underway between the Taliban and the Afghan government to end the two-decade-long civil war, while on the other hand, terrorist activities are also underway in Afghanistan.

A few days ago, US Special Representative for Afghanistan Zalmai Khalilzad said that the peace process was threatened by the fighting.

The human rights group said more than 50 people had been killed in the fighting in the past few weeks.

Omar Warraich, head of Amnesty International South Asia, said that let the world stand and take notice, Afghan citizens are being sacrificed on a daily basis.
