Lahore :Pakistan ODI and T20 team captain Babar Azam has made a splash on his return home who excelled in his first match in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) National T20 Cup First XI tournament. His performance also gave his team another victory.

According to the details, Babar Azam scored 86 runs off 52 balls while Faheem Ashraf gave an all-round performance and defeated the Northern team which won five matches in a row. Babar Azam could not participate in the opening matches of the National T20 Cup due to his participation in the T20 Blast Tournament while Faheem Ashraf was also busy recovering from a knee injury. The team won three overs already.

Faheem Ashraf also excelled in bowling and led 4 players to the pavilion for just 18 runs and thus Northern lost the top four batsmen with a total score of 52. However, captain Shadab Khan scored 39 off 25 balls and aggressive batsman Asif Ali scored 67 off 40 balls to regain the lost momentum and his team managed to score 165 runs.

In pursuit of the target, Kamran Akmal and Babar Azam of Central Punjab took control of the match by giving an aggressive start of 52 runs. However, Kamran Akmal got out on this occasion and then Abdullah Shafiq also returned to the pavilion Of course, this would have been the turning point of the match, but the captain of the national team did not let the match get out of hand through his excellent batting, while on the other hand, Faheem Ashraf played a smoky innings of 52 runs off 26 balls.
