Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of the complaints of citizens regarding excessive prices of goods in motorway rest areas and ordered stern action against illegal profiteers.

According to private TV channel GNN, Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice of the complaints of citizens on the Citizen Portal on the overpriced prices of goods in the motorway rest areas. Has issued a letter to the Ministry of Communications, NHA and IG Motorway ordering stern action against the profiteers.

The Prime Minister's Office said that a special team should be appointed to monitor the prices at the motorway rest areas, banners should be hung on the motorway rest areas for the awareness of passengers and tourists, and steps should also be taken in the rest areas for awareness of complaints on Citizen Portal.

The Prime Minister's Office has directed the concerned authorities to submit a preliminary report within 21 days.
