If the Taliban try to take over on Panjshir Valley, they will face resistance, says Ahmad Masood.
Ahmad Masood, leader of the National Resistance Front in northern Afghanistan, says the Taliban will face resistance if they try to seize the Panjshir Valley.
In an interview with Arab media, Ahmad Masood said that Panjshir would not be handed over to the Taliban, adding that if the Taliban tried to seize it, the resistance fighters were ready to fight.
"We fought the Soviet Union and we have the capability to fight the Taliban. If the Taliban refuse to negotiate, war will be inevitable," Masood said.
Arab media say the Taliban have given Ahmad Masood four hours to hand over the Panjshir Valley, with Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh still in Panjshir.
