A fire broke out at a chemical factory in Korangi Mehran Town, killing 15 workers and injuring two firefighters.


According to Express-News, a fire broke out in a chemical factory located in Mehran Town area of ​​Karachi which intensified as soon as the incident was reported. The fire was so severe that fire brigade officials called the fire a third-degree fire and called for fire tenders from across the city.


According to fire brigade officials, there are reports of several workers being trapped inside the factory, while more people are feared dead due to smoke filling inside the factory, so efforts are underway to demolish the walls of the factory.

Rescue sources said that the bodies of 13 workers have been recovered from the factory so far while 2 of the injured workers have died. It is not possible to enter the factory due to smoke while 2 firefighters were also present during the operation He was seriously injured in the fall.


On the other hand, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the Korangi factory fire and sought details from Commissioner Karachi and Labor Department. According to the spokesperson, the Chief Minister has been directed to provide full assistance to the families of the slain workers and treat the injured.
