It has been decided to trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Pakistani Rupees.


A meeting of the Standing Committee on Finance was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Senator Talha Mahmood.

Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen told the meeting that Afghanistan was in danger of depreciating against the dollar, so trade with Afghanistan would be in Pakistani rupees and not in dollars.

He said that the IMF and the World Bank have withheld the Afghan dollar and the situation in Afghanistan is being reviewed on a daily basis.

Shaukat Tareen says that people can also be sent from Pakistan to run various affairs in Afghanistan, food price is the biggest problem in the country.

He said the current account deficit has been rising since April-May and had to go to the IMF due to a lack of sustainable growth.

The Finance Minister informed the meeting that the GDP growth would be brought to 4.8% this financial year.

Shaukat Tareen said that the Asian Development Bank has provided 4 450 million for the purchase of the coronavirus vaccine.

He further said that Indian programmers had hacked the FBR framework, Indian programmers had additionally hacked the FBR framework in 2019.

Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen also said that those who should have been punished for hacking the system have already been punished and now the entire system is being upgraded in the FBR.
